| This cosy, individually furnished villa with private pool lies on a southfacing hillside near S. Bras de Alportel and enjoys spectacular views over the valley to the Atlantic coast. The house, with its 144 sq.m., offers ample space for 6 people, and is an ideal place to relax and unwind. It has easy access by road to all parts of the Algarve (beaches and golf 25 mins), and to Spain (40 minutes). Enjoy the unspoilt countryside and alfresco dining on the terrace, or sunbathe by the pool. Nighttime coastal views are like diamond necklaces of lights. Villa Holanda offers everything you could wish for in a holiday! A hire car is essential. Sorry – no pets allowed. Non-smokers and careful responsible smokers welcome. | On the ground floor: fully equipped kitchen. Through the kitchen you enter the combined living/dining room with log fire and large panoramic window with view onto the valley. The hallway takes you to the two airy bedrooms with single beds/double bed and to the bathroom with large tiled walk-in shower - big enough for two. On the same floor is the partly roofed, spacious upper terrace with motorised canopy for plenty of shade and a truly memorable sea view. Down a flight of steps is the large pool area with barbeque, and sun loungers, tables and umbrellas (pool size: 9 x 4m with steps, heatable on request). From this level you have access to the apartment: bedroom with two single beds (can be pushed together), bathroom with shower and pantry with drinks fridge, tea/coffee making facilities. Gudrun, the owner’s wife, is an experienced handspinner and also produces tapestries of Modern Art (Picasso, Kandinsky, Klee, Miró, etc.) and carpets and rugs in Portuguese wool (www.gudrun-robinson.com). Have a guided tour of her atelier (free of charge), and/or book lessons in handspinning or tapestry/rug making. The Arts & Crafts minded can also book out-of-house courses/lessons in mosaics, tiffany glass art (examples are the windows and lampshades in the villa), painting, etc. - please enquire. |
